Anonna reticulata, also known as Custard Apple, is a tropical fruit tree that belongs to the Annonaceae family. It is native to the Caribbean and is widely cultivated in tropical regions around the world. The tree can grow up to 15 feet tall and has glossy, dark green leaves. The fruit is round or slightly oblong, with a green or yellowish and red skin depending the variety, that is covered in a network of shallow ridges. The flesh is white, pink or red depending the variety creamy, and sweet, with a texture similar to that of a custard. The fruit contains many small, hard seeds that are not edible. The fruit is typically eaten fresh, but can also be used to make milkshakes and ice cream.
