Abiu scientifically known as Pouteria Caimito, is native to the Amazon rainforest. It is in the latex yielding family Sapotaceae like star apple and sapodilla. The pulp of the fruit is very delicate and jelly like. Abiu is very sweet and has a strong caramel flavor. Typically containing 1-4 viable seeds per fruit. Our Abiu is grown in South Florida and hand harvested.

Ripening Guide: Abiu is harvested ripe and ready to eat upon delivery. Cut in half and scoop out edible pulp. Do not eat the seeds or skin.
