Abiu scientifically known as Pouteria Caimito, is native to the Amazon rainforest. It is in the latex yielding family Sapotaceae like star apple and sapodilla. The pulp of the fruit is very delicate and jelly like. Abiu is very sweet and has a strong caramel flavor. Typically containing 1-4 viable seeds per fruit. Our Abiu is grown in South Florida and hand harvested.

Ripening Guide: Abiu is shipped ripe and ready to eat. It can be left to ripen further on a counter top.
